ColorPicker Gadget is a Gadget for Microsoft Windows Vista and Seven (32-bit editions). It was developed to return the hex decimal value of any given color on the screen. It can be useful for extracting the color value of a certain part of a photo, so you can use it in your graphics editing application. It can also be useful for web designers as they can pick the background colors' hex code that they need in their HTML editing programs.
The program displays a small and simple window within the Widows Sidebar. All you need to do is to click on the "eye dropper" icon, and your mouse pointer will turn into a small magnifying glass, that you can point at any area of your screen. Once the gadget identifies the color you've chosen, it will display 4 values: red, green, blue and hex values of the color chosen. You can simply click on any item of the 4, and its value will be automatically copied to your Windows clipboard.
One of the useful additions is the built-in color chooser tool, which enables you to directly pick and adjust the color you need, and the program will return its hex value. The program's windows can be dragged, and you can also set it to be on top of all other opened windows.
